Why pay $20 when Square and SignUpGenius are free?
Because free already won the part it covers, and you should keep using it. Owners doing this kind of work commonly pay $120 to $450 a month across three or four tools and still do one piece of the job by hand, because no vendor will add it for them. Saddle is the $20 that covers that piece — beside what you already pay for, not instead of it.
Does Saddle replace the software I already pay for?
Usually not, and it is better if it does not. Most apps built here sit next to a booking system or an invoicing tool and do the thing it refuses to do. Saddle apps cannot talk to other software, so nothing syncs between the two — in practice the gap is information your current tool never held anyway.
We are a volunteer group with no budget. Is there anything for us?
The free app, and for most sign-up sheets that is the whole job: one link, a cap on places, replies you can export. It needs no card and nobody has to install anything to use it.
Is there a free plan?
Your first app is free and needs no card. You can describe an app, see it built, and publish it before deciding whether to pay.
When can I start using Saddle?
Now. Saddle runs in your browser at build.saddle-sites.com, on a phone or a computer. Sign up, describe your first app, and it is free to build and publish.
What does $20 a month get me?
20,000 credits a month. Creating an app costs 1,000 credits and an edit costs 500, so a month covers roughly 20 new apps or 40 edits. Chatting about your app is free.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe what you want in plain language. Saddle builds the screens, the data behind them, and the published page.
Where do my apps live?
Every published app gets its own live web address on app.saddle-sites.com. Hosting, accounts and storage are included — there is nothing separate to set up or pay for.
Can people sign in to the apps I build?
Yes. Published apps can have real user accounts, and each person who signs in sees only their own saved data.
What can a published app not do?
It cannot take a payment, send a push notification, connect to another service, or work offline — it needs a connection each time it is opened, even from the home screen. It can hold your data, sign people in, enforce a limit, collect replies, use the phone’s camera, share sheet and location, and be edited by you afterwards. If taking money is the point of what you are building, Saddle is not the tool for it.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. You can cancel whenever you like and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Apps you have already published stay published.
